Hazards

Atomic energy, though a very useful and a very powerful form of energy can also be exceedingly dangerous. It can be advantageous or disadvantageous and it all depends on how constructively and sensibly we use this energy. The hazardous nature of atomic energy is evident from the Chernobyl disaster and the Hiroshima and Nagasaki incidents. Those disasters had such a large scale negative impact on the places that the people, even today are suffering due to the after effects .it must be remembered that this form of energy must be handled carefully. Even tapping and storing of this energy, if not done carefully and properly can prove to be disastrous. It has been found that only 10% of the total atomic energy is used for civil purposes! The remaining percentage of it is used for destructive purposes. It is very pitiful that terrorists, vendettas and the like are still resorting to such harmful weaponry. As we already know atomic energy can be used effectively and it can bring about several improvements in plethora of fields. So it is up to the people to make use of the positive aspects of atomic energy and use it to the optimum level for a good cause.
